Quit India Movement Day 2021

Quit India Movement Day 2021

On August 8, 2021, the nation commemorates the 79th anniversary of the Quit India Movement, or August Kranti Din, which is one of the most significant milestones in the history of India’s freedom movement.

Quit India Movement was a mass civil disobedience movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 August 1942. He launched the movement in Gowalia Tank Maidan (now also known as August Kranti Maidan), and gave a call ‘do or die’.

Thousands of freedom fighters sacrificed their lives in this cause. As we now live in an independent nation, every year we commemorate the hardships and sacrifices made by our forefathers during the Quit India Movement.
Let us recall and honour our heroes and their contribution towards the Indian freedom struggle.

International Tiger Day 2021

International Tiger Day 2021
International Tiger Day is celebrated worldwide on 29 July 2021. This day is also celebrated as Awareness Day. Due to poaching and destruction of forests in various countries, the number of tigers has dropped significantly.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to promote awareness, conservation and expansion of wild tiger habitats around the world. In 2010, at the Tiger Conference in St. Petersburg, Russia, it was decided to celebrate ‘International Tiger Day’ every year on 29 July. In this conference, 13 countries with a tiger population had vowed that by 2022 they will double the tiger population.
Agastya International School stands in solidarity with the world on this issue.
