World Hypertension Day, World Hypertension Day 2021

World Hypertension Day is a day designated and initiated by The World Hypertension League (WHL), which is itself an umbrella to organizations of 85 national hypertension societies and leagues.

The day was initiated to increase the awareness of hypertension. This was especially important because of the lack of appropriate knowledge among hypertensive patients. The WHL launched its first WHD on May 14, 2005. Since 2006, the WHL has been dedicating May 17 of every year as WHD.
This year’s theme is Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer, focusing on combatting low awareness rates worldwide, especially in low to middle income areas, and accurate blood pressure measurement methods. Some new resources include a free online course on accurate automated blood pressure measurement.

We , at Agastya International are determined to spread awareness about healthcare in solidarity with the world.

Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Fitr in India

Eid-ul-Fitr in India

Eid al-Fitr is on the first day of the month of Shawwal (Islamic Calendar) and marks the end of Ramadan (month long fasting) and the beginning of a feast that breaks the fast. As mentioned above, the holy month of Ramadan ends with Eid, and so does the period of fasting from dawn to dusk.

Muslims thank Allah for the holy Quran, which was revealed to Prophet Muhammed on Laylat al-Qadr, one of the odd-numbered nights during the last ten days of Ramadan. For the unversed, fasting (Sawm) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, and hence the significance.

Wishing Happy Eid to all from Agastya Family.
