8th of September was proclaimed International Literacy Day by UNESCO in the year 1966 in order to remind everyone of the importance of literacy for individuals, communities and societies along with the necessity to intensify efforts towards more literate societies.
The theme for 2021 is “Literacy for a human-centred recovery: Narrowing the digital divide”.
It is celebrated to raise awareness and concern for literacy problems that exist within our own local communities as well as globally.
Agastya International School wishes a very Happy International Literacy Day to everyone…… Together we can change this world by making everyone literate and coming together on an electronic platform or physically just to promote education.
