World Zoonoses Day 2021

World Zoonoses Day is a global awareness day held every 6 July, the anniversary of the day in 1885 when Louise Pasteur successfully administered the first vaccine against rabies. In 2021, it comes once again in the midst of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, a disease of zoonotic (animal) origin.

World Zoonoses Day is an annual opportunity to raise awareness of those diseases that can spread among animals and people and to celebrate global activities taking place to minimise the risks in the future.

World Zoonoses Day is conducted every year to emphasise and bring awareness amongst people about the zoonotic disease and teach them to take the right action.

Let us all hope for a better future and a healthy disease free life for all.

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed on 26 June every year with the aim to create awareness about issues related to drugs and strengthening action and cooperation in order to make the world free of drug abuse.

Across the world, many individuals, organisations and communities come together every year on the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to inform people about the problems faced by society due to illegal drugs.

The theme this year is “Share Facts On Drugs, Save Lives”.

International Olympic Day 2021

Introduced in 1948, to commemorate the birth of modern Olympic Games in 1894 on June 23 at Sorbonne in Paris, the goal of Olympic Day is to promote participation in sports across the world, irrespective of age, gender or athletic ability.

This year, the theme of International Olympic Day is “Stay healthy, Stay strong, Stay active with the Olympic Day workout on June 23.”

This year the Olympic organization has created a brand new home exercise video featuring Olympics competitors in the run-up to Olympic Day. Athletes featured in the video are Laurie Hernandez of the United States, Martin Fourcade of Canada, Lutalo Muhammad of Taekwondo, wrestler Vinesh Phogat and Tongan Pita Taufatofua.
